Who do you think has a bigger heart - parents with biological kids or parents with adopted kids? Easy to answer, huh ?
I feel parents of adopted kids have bigger heart. That is not to say who loves their kid(s) more. Having bigger heart means being able to love beyond the normal. It comes natural to love your own kid; but will you be able to love a child that doesn't carry your gene ?
And western societies have more complex situations like biological as well as step-kids. Simply put, how does it all work ? It is hard for me to comprehend the dynamism of these kind of families. These parents got to have bigger hearts; even bigger compared to adopted-parents.
If you think you have means - finance, logistics etc., would you go and adopt an orphan so you can give decent life and deserved-love to that kid ? Is your heart big enough for that ? Or conversely, do majority of people have constricted heart ? - we have large number of over-filled orphanages and not many adopters.
I do want to give a loving environment to at least one orphan, but I think my heart is bit too small for that :(
